About the Sun & Snow America Program:
The 12 Month Work & Travel Visa available to New Zealand & Australian Passports means we can place you for an extended placement at a summer camp then into a snow season at a 5 Star Resort straight afterwards.
Spend half your 12 Month Work & Travel J1 Visa placed in a support role at Summer Camp and the other half working in a 5 Star Ski Resort during the Winter.
You’ll have time to travel with your friends from camp between placements.
You also get an extra 30 days to travel before your visa start date, and a further 30 days to travel at the end of your second placement.
Here’s how it breaks down:
March or April Placement at Summer Camp
You’ll be placed at a Summer Camp in America for pre-camp and post camp work and your role could be one of the following support roles at camp.
- Maintenance
- Admin/Office
- Kitchen
- Staff roles not living with campers like Activities Director, Waterfront Director, Horseback Director
- Operations or Logistics staff e.g. Arrivals & Departures, Laundry, Reports,
- Security staff
- Camp Photographer
- Social Media Staff
- Videography staff
This placement will likely end in September and then you’ll have some free tome to travel before you start your next placement in a 5 Star Ski Resort.
Ski Resort Placement
We work with only the best Winter 5 Star Resorts to get you the perfect job for the winter season (November to March or April)
Roles may include;
- Barista
- Ski Lift Attendant
- Guest Services
- Kitchen/Culinary
- Food & Beverage roles
- Host/Hostess
- Ski Concierge
- Retail etc
We plan everything out for you and we sponsor your visa, provide insurance for the whole time plus support in USA. As well as that we help with flights and logistics.Â
Accommodation
- You can expect dormitory style accommodation at Camp
- At the Resort you will have access to staff housing initially and then resources to find your own apartment with others. Housing depends on what type you want to live in – the less people you live with adds to this cost. For detailed info about costs, kindly fill the form below to enquire.
Meals
- Meals are provided at camp
- Discounted Staff meals are available at the Resort cafeteria during your shifts
Location
- We work with camps and Resorts all over USA
- Obviously for a Ski Resort it will be near the mountains like Deer Valley in Utah

Can I apply?
The 12 Month Work & Travel J1 visa is only available to New Zealand & Australian Passport Holders.
You need to have completed at least 12 months of tertiary study, or, have graduated within the last 12 months to apply for this visa.
There is no upper age limit.

You’ll get both a Sunny Summer and a White Winter

Who Are We Looking For?
- Love of the outdoors and a flexible attitude.
- You should not be fussy about helping with cleaning/camp set up/camp pack down
- The more roles you are open to the better
- We are looking for graduates who want to experience the security of a pre-arranged job plus some variety
- We will not tolerate smoking, alcohol or the use of drugs
