Last week our awesome Friends of Free Wildlife Project received an urgent call from a farmer in Witbank.
He had an orphaned baby tierboskat, Serval (Leptailurus Serval), whose mother had been shot without explanation.

This is where doing the best for an animal comes first. Friends of Free Wildlife works closely with other permitted and reputable centres, and a call was made to a local Wildlife Centre.
Deidre immediately found a volunteer to drive to Witbank from Malelane the following day to collect the Serval and transport it to the centre. Deidre already has two other young serval, which is an ideal situation for the eventual rehabilitation back to the wild of all three.
The little Serval is doing really well – thanks Deidre for a great job!
Recognising the best possible outcome for our orphaned and injured wildlife is what we do best – and that, hopefully, is why the general public bring animals to the centre. They know we will always put them first.
